Eaglewood Lodge is a handcrafted luxury log cabin set deep in the scenic hills outside Westport. Surrounded by oak woods and rolling mountains, it offers a rare blend of rustic charm and modern comfort—perfect for hen parties, stag weekends, retreats, family gatherings, or anyone seeking a unique nature escape.

The Space

Eaglewood Lodge is designed as a true destination. Built from natural logs with vaulted ceilings and handcrafted details, it feels like a Swiss-style mountain retreat. The open, social layout gives groups plenty of room while still feeling warm and atmospheric.

Inside you’ll find:

• A spacious kitchen-dining area ideal for shared meals
• A cozy living space with a wood-burning stove and mountain views
• Warm wooden interiors and high ceilings
• Multiple social zones that make group stays easy and comfortable

Outside, the lodge is surrounded by private woodland and uninterrupted nature:

• Large wood-fired hot tub (free to use; bring your own timber)
• Plunge tub
• Fire pit with grill for cooking and late-night gatherings
• BBQ area and outdoor dining
• Lawn area, children’s play space, vegetable and herb garden

Location: Located in the Joyce Country Geopark and Lake District, Eaglewood delivers the full mountain-escape atmosphere while still being only:

• 12 minutes from Westport
• 12 minutes from Leenane and the Killary Fjord

Sleeping Arrangements

The lodge sleeps large groups comfortably.

Downstairs:

• 2 ensuite double rooms (each with king + single bed)
• One ensuite includes a bath

Upstairs:

• One room with 2 doubles + 1 single
• One room with 2 doubles + 3 singles
• Shared bathroom
• Pull-out double bed on the balcony area

Additional Options:

• Glamping pods (sleep 2 and 3) with separate showers and compost toilets
• A separate one-bedroom cabin with kitchen, living room, and bathroom (sleeps 2)

Additional charge applies for groups over 16 guests (€80 pp/night).

We normally greet guests on arrival and show you around. If we’re out hiking or away for the day, self check-in is available via lockbox. We are always reachable by phone.

Eaglewood sits between Westport and Leenane, surrounded by mountains, rivers and untouched countryside.

Transport options:

• Taxi service to/from Westport (€15 pp return for groups)
• Public bus passing 6 times daily
• Car recommended for exploring the region, but not required
